Sport and wellbeing

Food and drink
Set aside the morning of January 21st, February 4th, or February 18th for a visit to the Northside Produce Market. These markets have been running for nearly a quarter of a century and provide locals with the freshest fresh produce and a huge range of artisanal foods and supplies.
What better way to start a magical weekend than with a delicious breakfast or brunch at one of Neutral Bay’s amazing cafes? Chaos Cafe prides itself on the perfect babycino as well as their high-quality breakfast selection. Against the Grind not only provides a sensational breakfast menu, but is also a deli, so you can pick up some tasty supplies to take home. Thelma and Louise Waterfront Cafe’s location means you can enjoy a scrumptious breakfast while overlooking the ocean.
Sydney Culinary School: If your love of food transcends eating into cooking as well, then why not take a class at Sydney Culinary School? The school has weekend and weekday classes, so you can hone your cooking skills to impress your friends and family or pursue a new career.
For the kids
Summer means school holidays, which also means keeping the kids entertained. All kids love playgrounds, and, best of all, they’re free. Give your kids a magical weekend morning with a family trip to one of Neutral Bay’s brilliant playgrounds, like Warringa Park Playground, Ilbery Reserve Park, or Phillips Street Park. Arrive early to find somewhere to park and skip the crowds. You can be home before the sun gets too hot.
If there’s one thing kids like more than playgrounds, it’s swimming. Maccallum Pool, on the western side of Cremorne Point, is a safe and fun place to take the kids for a dip, as is Greenwich Baths. Both provide splendid views of the harbour.
On the water
Get wet this summer with Watersports Central — the place to go for innovative new water sports equipment. Enjoy a ride around the harbour on a water bike, get under the water with a SEABOB or whizz above it on a super-cool Fliteboard.
If you prefer to power your travel yourself, why not get out on the water in a kayak from Sydney Kayak Experience? Enjoy the splendour of Sydney Harbour from the unique perspective of a kayak. Or, for another adventure, try stand-up paddleboard lessons with Balmoral Water Sports Center. If you’re lucky enough to own your own stand-up paddleboard, it’s best to get out on the water early, before the wind picks up for the day.
Take a hike
Neutral Bay and surrounding areas have some of the best Sydney walks. What better way to spend a balmy summer morning than walking around Cremorne Point and enjoying the harbour views and colonial architecture or strolling along Balmoral Beach to Taronga Zoo, or stopping for a bite to eat at Ripples Chowder Bay?
