Try something different in Neutral Bay this autumn
After two long years, freedom is returning. The pandemic, or at least the importance of isolating and staying home, is finally ebbing away. Now you have the chance to get out and about again, why not look for some of the more niche things to do in Neutral Bay and surrounds?
Neutral Bay and the surrounding suburbs have plenty going on, whatever your demographic. Here are a few fun ideas for a more unusual day out during the Easter break (or anytime):
High Tea at Nutcote House
Nutcote was the home of legendary Australian children’s author May Gibbs, famous for her Snugglepot and Cuddlepie stories. This year is the 100th anniversary of Gibbs’ story Little Obelia and Nutcote House has put on a stunning exhibit to celebrate. Book a high tea at Nutcote House, and your ticket will include a tour of the house and the exhibit.
Cinema with a difference
The Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace knows how to make going to the movies a unique experience. They screen rare films, newly restored classics, and heaps of sing-a-long nights. In April, you can sing along to flicks including The Sound of Music, Frozen, and The Greatest Showman.
Green time
Looking for a new hobby? Little Succers in Neutral Bay specialises in a complete build-your-own terrarium experience. With a selection of terrarium supplies, you can create your own masterpiece and take it home to wow your friends. Make sure to book ahead because their sessions are very popular.
Cook up a storm
Have fun and improve your skills in the kitchen at the Sydney Cooking School. There is a level and activity for everyone from courses for beginners and kids and teens to honing your knife skills. In April, they will be running classes including French Classics and Easy Thai at Home, so book now to get cooking this winter.
Community spirit
There is always something to do at the Neutral Bay Community Centre. They host frequent bridge and mahjong nights. Why not see if you can outsmart your opponents?
